The open beta for Hellgate Global has been announced, with the date set for June 30.

A teaser page with the message “Hellgate’s Eternity Arrives…” as well as a trailer and concept art has been set up on the T3Fun website.

What remains to be seen is if there will be a character wipe at the conclusion of the beta or if the game will simply launch off the back of it. While character wipes are common in Western titles, this is not always the case with Eastern developers so there is a chance we will get to continue playing our characters through to launch of the game.

The Closed Beta for T3 Entertainment’s highly anticipated MMO Hellgate launches today in Europe and North America, running from June 3rd, 7:30 PM (EST) to June 5th, 7:30 PM (EST).

Closed beta test keys are still available for grabs on the T3Fun site at hellgate.t3fun.com. If you haven’t already, sign up and secure your key now in preparation for the return of Hellgate!

The client for Hellgate Global is now available for download!

All those who have been accepted into the closed beta will now have the next week to download the client and get patched up to the most recent version. Those who have not been accepted into the beta yet are also able to download the client, although will not be able to log into the game during the beta.

However there are sure to be more beta key giveaways before the closed beta next week so it might worth downloading the client anyway!

The official Hellgate Global forums are now available as are instructions on how to apply for the Hellgate Global closed beta.

Applying for the beta is simple – all you need to do is create an account on the Hellgate Global website and then click on the Gates of hell images you see on the site.

This will give you a 50/50 chance of randomly being selected for the beta. If you are selected you will receive the message “Your courage has been noted. You are chosen to enter the gates of hell. See you at the rift of Hellgate.”

Then simply wait for the client to be available for download and be ready to go on June 3.

If you’re part of the unlucky 50% and miss out on a key, don’t give up! There are numerous partner sites, such as mmorpg.com, that will be distributing beta keys as well so keep an eye out for any competitions they may have going.

The wait is finally over! Hellgate: London is finally returning to the English speaking world all thanks to T3Fun. What’s even more exciting is the fact that they announced on their Facebook page that the Closed Beta would be starting on June 3 this year!

Details are still sketchy on how to obtain a closed beta test key, but we’ll definitely be looking into it and trying to obtain some.

Hellgate Global seems to be the new working title for the game and it will be made available as a free to play game, following the same model it has been using in South Korea and Japan.

So stay tuned as I’m sure we’ll be hearing more news shortly on how to obtain a beta key with the test only a couple of weeks away!
